the 510 was replaced by the mx518.
The mx518 is better than the original G5 because the first gen G5 only had one button on the side. I use both buttons, often. I would not own the original G5 for that reason. The second gen G5 is the same as the mx518 shell design (same shape and button layout, except the + sensitivity button is behind the scroll wheel), but with the laser tracking hardware of the G5. The G5 has 2000dpi vs 1600 for mx518. With the G5, you can change the USB polling rate from SetPoint, with mx518 you have to do it manually.

If they cost the same, there's no reason to get the mx518. But, with an extra 400dpi being the biggest difference, I wouldn't pay more for a G5.

mAus and any good player would be just as good with any of these mice after getting used to it. The mouse feet and pad are FAAAR more important than the mouse for sharp aiming. People are worried about their mouse's DPI when it can't even come close to it's potential on the mousepad they are using. If you don't believe that, try your mouse on different surfaces and see how your sensitivity changes. mAus would be alpha with a ball mouse.

err i didn't realize that i said 510 instead of 518 lol, and i just noticed that mAus uses a razer death adder now, anyways i don't think that a mouse will make any difference i used to play on a crappy 5 bucks mouse and it worked to me. so to mule just buy whatever mouse you can afford.

hated death adder, it's good performance, but based on my own experiences, death adder is cheap....It break so damn fast...I play with the original G5 gen since a little while and I love it, about the second button for new gen, depends of the player, i personally never use these buttons (actually one is binded to my vent key, but nothing for gaming) so it's no biggie for me.

Whenever mule says "say hello to my little friend" it's normally followed by uncontrollable laughter by the female in the room.
